Overview
Heat sink compounds or thermal greases, are wide-temperature, grease-like materials that are used to conduct thermal energy away from sensitive components to larger ventilated areas or to heat measuring and controlling instruments. The plasticity of the heat sink compound or thermal grease, allows it to readily fill gaps or voids between conducting surfaces.
Nye offers both silicone grease and non-silicone grease in our thermal grease product lines. Non-silicone heat sink compounds may be preferred, for example, when the low surface tension of a silicone grease may impact such operations as soldering and painting.
