Quality Feel for Automotive Components

Damping greases by Nye are used in many automotive components as an economical way to reduce noise, deliver a quality feel, and control motion. Dozens of Nye damping greases have specifications at the major automotive OEM’s and their use on new applications is growing rapidly.

New Calcium Sulfonate Thickened Grease

Rheotemp™ 662 is Nye’s first calcium sulfonate thickened grease. This product is recommended for high load applications operating under extreme conditions. 662 is a high performance grease with premium physical properties, including excellent corrosion protection, water washout and spray off protection. Made with a PAO base oil, this grease is compatible with many plastics and elastomers used in the Automotive Industry.

Learn More about Copper Corrosion Testing

A copper corrosion test (ASTM D-4048) is performed to ensure that a grease will protect the metal surfaces it comes in contact with over time. This test is often performed for automotive companies to determine how suitable a lubricant is for lubricating parts containing copper or copper alloys.
