Potable Water

Ensuring safe and healthy drinking water is a priority. Strict standards for drinking water system components have been established by the NSF to minimize chemical contaminants and impurities that can be directly imparted to potable water from products, compounds, and materials used in drinking water systems.

Nye Lubricants Inc. has received NSF/ANSI 61 Certification for Potable Water Lubrication for Fluorocarbon Gel 880FG and 885FG. This certification allows Nye to sell our products for commercial water treatment and drinking water in both hot and cold water applications. This approval verifies that our lubricants meet the stringent levels set by the NSF, thus ensuring that drinking water is safe for consumers.

Both Fluorocarbon Gel 880FG and 885FG have received Drinking Water System Components Certification (NSF/ANSI Standard 61) and Lead Content Certification (Standard PB-ADD). Download the Authorized Registration Formulation documents below. Fluorocarbon Gel 880FG and 885FG are PTFE thickened, heavy viscosity dimethyl silicone greases. These odorless greases provide excellent water and oxidative resistance over a broad temperature range. Possible applications for these lubricants include: faucets, water filters, pumps, plumbing, piping, appliances and water treatment plants.
