Chassis Components

Nye Lubricants offers a variety of lubricants engineered to improve the functionality, reliability, and longevity of automotive steering and suspension systems. Our specialty greases and oils resist water and protect against harsh environmental conditions, reduce noise and vibration, prevent friction & wear, and ensure reliable operation over a wide temperature range.

Lubricants for suspension components should resist water and salt, reduce noise and vibration, remain viable at low temperatures, and provide lifetime lubrication in closed applications.

Suspension systems have become highly customizable. Yet at low temperatures, traditional shock absorber fluids may become too viscous to pass though the valves that control the fluid level and adjusts the stiffness of the suspension. A very low viscosity synthetic fluid with low temperature range down to -60 °C is recommended for adjustable suspension systems.

Typically found on pickup trucks and SUVs, leaf springs provide rear suspension and shock absorption. Exposed to water, saltwater, and road grit, they can wear down, crack, or produce squeaks and squeals. A viscous synthetic grease fortified for extreme-pressure service reduces wear and corrosion; its high damping capability also minimizes noise.

Stabilizer bushings must maintain a tight fit with the stabilizer bar and control arms, while exposed to high underhood temperatures. Such temperatures combined with constant changes in force and stress tend to dry the rubber. Silicone grease is compatible with these bushings and eases the assembly process while offering superior water washout resistance.

Stabilizer bushings - Fluorocarbon Gel 880

For safety and ergonomics, pedal positioning systems are proliferating. A dripless, odorless synthetic hydrocarbon grease fortified with PTFE is recommended for the bearings, gears, and sliding surfaces in this motorized assembly.
